  1. Great memories! I was a member of this fine band from 1965-67. Reunion coming. Looking forward to revisiting so many lost years. Would love to hear from fellow band members.

  2. Sirs,
From an XO of ’60-70, we long heard word of legendary bands of the earlier “Feltham” years. I’ve finally listened to…..and kudos–your bands were stellar–to bands of Duke’s first years. To honor Col. Feltham ~26 bands, he always did magic with the players he had, but your earliest players were remarkable. You would not be aware that the 1st trombone of the PSO (legendary Glenn Dodsen, principal of Phil Orch) told me (when we performed with Maestro Ormandy in 1969) that he needed to decide between VF and Julliard in 1950——and he chose Julliard. Compliments to Duke and Julliard…and to you.

  4. I had the priviledge of knowing 3 prominent Band Masters over a span of years..Colonel Ferd Lhotak during the 1940’s-His Concerts were all copies of those earlier performed by John Philip Sousa,Duke Feltham was next and I spent a number of week long fishing trips in Canada. Because
he had light skin, his clothing in a boat consisted of long pants and long sleeves,an old pair of white gloves, and the largest and ugliest Mexican Hat I had ever seen. Contrast that picture with his full dress and tails at concerts. The 3rd was Danny Jaynes who was not only
a fine Bandmaaster but an AIRBORNE Warrior as well Hw was a good friend to all.
