Dan. great fun to hear these bands of all of Duke’s different “Duke” generations–each band remarkable. I, of course, think my 3 years at VF (Erdman (1st cornet my first year (’67–’68)), and good friend)–then Hoffman (’68-’69, good friend), then Miele (’69-70, extraordinary friend)),as first cornets, was the best…reality is, Duke was the best…and we all owe so much to him. These recordings are amazing.
