Stay Safe, Everyone

Band Sir! Posted on April 8, 2020 by Dan WolfeApril 8, 2020 4

I’ve never used this site for any kind of public service announcement, but these are indeed difficult times. First and foremost, nearly everyone reading this post is in the high-risk group if only because of the dates of our births. Many of us have health issues, some minor, others not so minor. Bottom line: this pandemic has the potential to take a lot of us if we’re not careful. I urge you to abide by the guidelines put out by the CDC. While we can’t yet quantify it, social distancing seems to be doing some good. So please do your … Get your chin in and keep reading…

Many thanks to Dr. Rick Forno, ’90 & ’92C, not a Bandie, but a great supporter of the Band for as long as I can remember. He provided this long video of a 1991 Thanksgiving Tattoo. Click here or on the graphic to go to the full description of this event!

New Program Added – Selections from Third Mess Formations

Band Sir! Posted on March 17, 2020 by Dan WolfeMarch 17, 2020 13

Thanks again to Bruce Daggett for these tracks. Click here or on the graphic to the right to go to the playlist. These are recordings from a few different 3rd mess formations which include, retreat, hymns, the National Anthem and marches. You can hear the regimental commander calling the corps to attention and present arms if you listen carefully. I did some noise removal and other minor edits to the files so that these details were easier to hear and more consistent in volume. Enjoy!

Very impressive performance and reproduction of the performances, especially if this was a digitized recording of the analog LP shown on the webpage! I know digitizing vinyl LPs is a s-l-o-w, painstaking labor of love. Thank you to the performers and the person/people putting in the work to share this online.
